Passion is fueled by your gifts and talents. Many find it difficult to know their passion and so get stuck in a job that makes them unhappy. Your passion gives you a purpose in life. What about you? Are you pursuing your passion or you are just working? What does your job mean to you? Is it just something that brings money on the table in the home, or do you see your job as something you are enthusiastic about because it is something you are passionate about?
Take a good look around you and you will see that most of the successful people around you and afar are wealthy because they are pursuing their passion. One other commonality they have is that they truly relish in going to work each and every day. They enjoy going to work because work does not really feel like work, rather they feel they are impacting their community every time they go to work and that is their purpose.

How then can you grow to that stage whereby you are executing a job that consistently bring you so much joy and content each and every day? One of the most effective ways of attaining this is to search within you and unearth your gifts and talents. Every single one of us have our own unique gifts and talents but many never bother to discover what they are. People that are close to you like family members and close friends are the best people who can help you figure out your gifts and talents.
Passion and Education
Unfortunately, our educational systems are designed to concentrate on teaching students the competences that will help them get a good job, with hardly any reference to passion. It is therefore not your fault that you struggle to work out what your passion is. However, remaining in that state will not only rob you of contentment in the job you do but will also deprive many that would have benefited from your gifts and talents. Agree, you were shown and trained to attain a noble paying job and while the job was pleasurable at first, all the excitement of the job are now worn off.
Maybe you’ve been in your profession a while now and right now you can no longer see what attracted you to it any longer; you’re basically jaded and discontented. There are so many people who are pursuing a job they are no longer happy with, they are plain bored and unfulfilled. It is only when you follow your passion that enables you to use your gifts and talents that you will be fulfilled in what you do.

Now, allow me help you a little here as we both look at some of the gifts and talents that you may already have. Let’s say you are a talented musician or singer, do you like dancing? How do you feel about working with people? Do people often come to you with their problems? Do you consider yourself a great listener?
When you are able to ascertain one of your gifts and/or talents, you should start looking for ways use it. If working with people brings you so much pleasure, you can consider working with school children or even the aged. Do you consider yourself a good listener? You could train to become a counselor, a social worker, or even a human resources person.
If you are not in a financial position to follow your talent full-time, you can at this stage pursue it intermittently. There are so many non-profit organisations out there that you may also volunteer your time by using your talents. By using your talent, you could help raise funds for much-needed equipment and tools for a local charity or church.
As you begin to pursue one of your passions, you will suddenly beginning feel more content with your life and other gifts will soon become obvious to you. Pursuing your passion will give you a purpose in life – a reason to want to get up and do!
Although, you may still have to go to your job that does not mean so much to you any longer because you have bills to pay and family to provide for. You now have a passion that makes it bearable. Following your passion is the perfect way to begin to improve your life as it would reduce your stress level and make you happy that you are impacting the world around you.
