7 Revitalizing Activities to Kick-Start Your Day

When you consciously kick-start your day, you are in effect setting the tone of your day. A lot of people find mornings to be the most hard-hitting part of a day. They find it quite difficult to get up, and the worst part is the thought of going to work. The truth is that mornings are very crucial part of our days and therefore, how you kick-start your day in the morning determines what you get out of the day.

Someone that rolls out of bed, gets in the shower, dressed up and then dashed out of the house holding a cup of tea or coffee in one hand, is definitely not setting the tone of the day right. If that is you and you wonder why you’ve been having so many unproductive days…

An effective and productive day often begins with an effective morning. It’s very difficult for one to be in their best form when they’re rushed. There are some powerful activities that can help you kick-start your day for a more productive and successful day.

Kick-start your day with these actions

  1. Write a to-do list before you go to bed at nighttime.

You can’t get your da off to the best start if you don’t know what you have planned for the day. Do you need to wear a pair of trouser or a skirt in for work? If you know what’s on tap, you can get your mind in the right place. Know how you’re going to spend your day. While things don’t always go as planned, you should always plan your day ahead else someone else will easily fit you into their plan.

  2. Drink a large glass of water first thing in the morning.

After a night of sleep, you’re dehydrated. So when you wake up, your body craves water. Rather than going to the kitchen to make a cup of coffee, try to avoid caffeine. It can be hard on your body if you do not get enough sleep. If you’re too tired in the mornings, try going to bed earlier as caffeine will only give you temporary fix

  3. Go for an early morning walk.

Put on your walking shoes and head outdoors. The treadmill is kick_start_your_dayanother good option. Feel free to run if you feel the urge to. A morning walk is a great way to wake up and clear your mind. You’ll feel great and get a start to your day.

  • Any form of exercise is acceptable, provided you feel better at the end of it than you did at the beginning.
Now isn’t the time to wear yourself out. You should feel invigorated at the end. Find the best form of exercise that suits you.
  1. Have a good breakfast.

Breakfast is said to me the most important meal of the day, so ensure you always have a breakfast. A good breakfast should make you feel good and provide the nutrition you require until lunchtime. You already know which foods are healthy and which aren’t. Make a few wise choices and note how you feel during the morning.

  1. Recite affirmations/pray.

Don’t under estimate the power of positive self-talk. You can recite affirmations while bathing, as you exercise or in the car as you drive to work. Become aware of the time that works for you best and be consistent in reciting your affirmations and praying. Make use of affirmations that deal with the challenging areas of your life. Words are very powerful and so what we declare to ourselves over and over again become our reality.

  2. Get up earlier than necessary.

Avoid rushing in the morning by getting up earlier than you need to. If you start your morning behind schedule, it will be more difficult to take control of your morning and the rest of the day. It is very pleasant to spend the morning without the stress and anxiety of being late. Ensure you retire to bed in good time so that you get enough sleep you have need of. One of the worst things you can do to your body is to deprive it of enough sleep.

  3. Be prepared to deal with your most important task first.

This shouldn’t too complicated as you would have written your to-do list the night before. Know your most important task and be prepared to face it head-on. Our resources are at full capacity earlier in the day and we tend to start running out of steam by the afternoon. Therefore, place your resources where they can do the most good. Have a workable plan, stick to it and get busy.

Life can be frenzied. You will not be helping the situation by struggling out of bed at the last possible minute and eating a piece of cake whilst holding a cup of coffee in the other hand on the way to work. A pleasant morning increases the likelihood of having a good and productive day. Accord yourself enough time in the morning to gather your thoughts and prepare properly for the day ahead. You will be amazed how much you can achieve before work when you consciously kick-start your day adequately.
